Apple Inc. is positioning itself to capture the artificial intelligence market by focusing on high-end hardware and services. Rather than investing in the development of large-scale AI models or data centers, the company is banking on consumer demand for devices that provide access to its AI agents, including the iPhone Duo and the new Siri AI.
Despite volatility and concerns regarding its pace during the AI boom, the company has seen its shares rise 113% over the past four years, outperforming the S&P 500's 95% gain. Apple maintains a strong financial position to fund acquisitions and product development, reporting approximately $117 billion in operating cash flow over the last nine months and an estimated current-quarter gross margin of 48%.
