Kuwait Air Defenses Intercept Missiles and Dozens of Drones

The Kuwait Armed Forces neutralized a series of escalating aerial threats over a three-day period ending March 18, 2026. The incursions began on March 16, when air defense systems detected four hostile drones; one was destroyed, one fell outside the threat zone, and two landed in the northern region with no injuries reported.

The situation intensified on March 17, as military forces intercepted two ballistic missiles and 13 drones. While the threats were neutralized, two individuals sustained minor injuries from falling shrapnel. During this window, the Inspection and Disposal of Explosives Unit also responded to eight separate reports to ensure public safety.

By March 18, the frequency of attacks increased further. The Ministry of Defense reported the interception of four ballistic missiles and the destruction of 20 drones out of 23 detected. Three remaining drones fell outside the threat area without causing damage. Throughout these events, military and security personnel remained on high alert to safeguard national security and sovereignty amid ongoing regional developments.
