Samsung Launches Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 Foldables

Samsung Electronics released the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 foldable smartphones, featuring slimmer designs, upgraded processors, and enhanced multitasking capabilities.

Samsung Electronics launched two new foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold8 and the Galaxy Z Flip8, focusing on reduced weight and improved ergonomics. The Galaxy Z Fold8 introduces a passport-style design with a slimmer chassis, a wider cover screen for one-handed use, and a reduced inner display crease. It emphasizes productivity through a persistent taskbar and the ability to run three apps side-by-side.

Following the Fold8 announcement, reports emerged that the company plans to release a luxury-branded special edition of the device in the second half of 2026. While not officially confirmed, the fashion brand Thom Browne is cited as a likely partner for this limited release, which would feature bespoke wallpapers and unique packaging.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 features a 6.9-inch main display and a 4.1-inch cover screen, weighing 180 grams with a 6.1 mm unfolded thickness. It is powered by a Deca-Core Exynos 2600 2nm processor and 12GB of RAM running Android 17. While the Flip8 is praised for its Armor Aluminum frame and one-handed opening hinge, reviews indicate that the thin chassis causes heat buildup during intensive use and that battery capacity and charging speeds remain unchanged from previous models.
