Cirrus Logic Acquires INVENTVM to Expand Semiconductor IP
Cirrus Logic Inc. acquired Italian fabless semiconductor firm INVENTVM to increase its engineering capacity and intellectual property in power management and audio circuits.
Cirrus Logic Inc. acquired INVENTVM, a fabless semiconductor company based in Pavia, Italy, to expand its intellectual property and engineering capacity in audio integrated circuits and mixed-signal power management. The deal follows several years of collaboration between the two firms and will see the INVENTVM engineering team integrate into the existing Cirrus Logic organization.
John Forsyth, President and CEO of Cirrus Logic, stated that the acquisition adds innovative IP and supports the company's efforts to grow in new applications and markets. Michele Chiabrera, CEO of INVENTVM, noted that joining the larger global organization creates new opportunities to advance technology and support customers.
Cirrus Logic intends to use the acquisition to grow its operational presence in Italy. While the company did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction, it stated the deal will not have a material impact on its revenue.
