Hitler Mussolini Simeon Flores Elected Mayor of Queropalca

Hitler Mussolini Simeon Flores won the mayoral election in the remote Peruvian district of Queropalca running for the center-left Ahora Nación party.

Hitler Mussolini Simeon Flores, a 45-year-old manager of the Simeon Sac investment group, was elected mayor of Queropalca, a remote district in the Peruvian Andes. Running as a candidate for the center-left Ahora Nación party, Flores secured 34.5% of the vote with 229 ballots. He defeated his closest rival, Gaspar Benilde Osorio Zambrano of the right-wing Popular Renewal Peru party, by 25 votes.

Flores previously belonged to the right-wing Popular Force party led by President Keiko Sofía Fujimori, but resigned from the organization in 2025. The election took place amid regional and municipal contests following Fujimori's presidential victory.

While his forenames, shared with two fascist dictators, drew international and national attention, local reports indicate that unconventional names are not uncommon in Peruvian politics. Previous examples include the late congressman Hitler Saavedra and Hitler Guesclin Alba Sánchez, who won a mayoral race in Yúngar in 2018. Similar naming patterns have appeared globally, such as in Namibia, where Adolf Hitler Uunona has won five consecutive local elections.
