US Holiday Online Sales Projected to Reach $275.1 Billion
Adobe Analytics forecasts a 6.7 percent increase in US holiday online sales, driven by deal-seeking consumers despite concerns from major retailers.
Adobe Analytics projects that US online sales will grow 6.7 percent this holiday season, reaching a total of $275.1 billion across November and December. The forecast indicates that higher household costs are making consumers more selective, leading them to prioritize promotions and deep discounts.
Cyber Monday is expected to be the highest spending day of the season with $15 billion in sales, representing a 6.2 percent increase. Black Friday online sales are projected to rise 9.2 percent to $12.9 billion, while Thanksgiving sales are forecast to grow 8.5 percent. Discounts are expected to peak at 30 percent on Cyber Monday, specifically for computers and electronics, while Black Friday is likely to offer the best deals on TVs, furniture, appliances, toys, and apparel.
Despite these growth projections, several major retailers have expressed caution. Walmart, Kohl's, and American Eagle Outfitters have raised concerns regarding the overall spending capacity of consumers heading into the peak shopping period.
