Oppidan Inc. Proposes 152,700-Square-Foot Data Center in South San Jose

Oppidan Inc. filed a proposal to construct a two-story, 152,700-square-foot data center on a 10.1-acre site in South San Jose. The facility is planned for the Edenvale industrial area near the corner of Embedded Way and Hellyer Avenue, adjacent to Coyote Creek.

The development site was originally purchased by Rockpoint Group LLC in 2022 for $15.7 million. The proposed center will require 18 megawatts of electricity and is located approximately 1.3 miles from a Pacific Gas and Electric Company substation on Santa Teresa Boulevard.

To support regional growth, Pacific Gas and Electric Company recently increased the capacity of the Santa Teresa substation to 80 megawatts. This project follows a broader trend of increasing proposals for advanced computing hubs across Alviso, North San Jose, and South San Jose.
