Mining Firms Report Major Tungsten Discoveries in Portugal and Nevada
Allied Critical Metals Inc. and Great Western Mining Corporation PLC reported high-grade tungsten discoveries in Portugal and Nevada to expand critical mineral resource bases.
Allied Critical Metals Inc. and Great Western Mining Corporation PLC reported significant tungsten exploration successes on July 7, 2026, as part of broader efforts to expand critical mineral resources. Allied Critical Metals Inc. confirmed a new high-grade tungsten-molybdenum discovery at the Venise Breccia within its Borralha Tungsten Project in northern Portugal. A primary drill hole intersected 13 metres of 1.00% WO3, indicating the property may contain a larger multi-phase hydrothermal system.
Separately, Great Western Mining Corporation PLC announced positive tungsten assay results from machine-cut channel sampling in Mineral County, Nevada. These results identify a mineralized trend extending approximately 3 kilometers across the Dough God, Pine Crow, and Widowmaker mines. Both companies intend to use these findings to direct current and future drilling campaigns to increase their resource volumes.
