Tamboran Resources Begins Gas Commissioning at Beetaloo Basin

Tamboran Resources Corporation has begun gas commissioning of the Sturt Plateau Compression Facility at its Shenandoah South development in the Beetaloo Basin. The facility is designed to process 50 terajoules per day, with 40 terajoules per day already contracted to the Northern Territory Government under a long-term take-or-pay agreement lasting up to 14 years.

All five wells on the Shenandoah South 2 pad have been drilled and tied back to the facility, positioning the company for imminent first gas sales. CEO Todd Abbott described the commissioning as a major milestone for both the company and the basin.

In a parallel development, the company entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Liberty Energy to extend their hydraulic fracture stimulation and wireline services partnership. The proposed extension runs from September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2029, with an option for two additional years. The partnership intends to introduce lower-emissions pumping equipment in 2027 and evaluate a completions fleet powered by locally produced Beetaloo gas to reduce diesel consumption.
