Democratic incumbents secured reelection to the Michigan Supreme Court and the Michigan State University Board of Trustees during the November 2026 midterm elections.
Democratic incumbents maintained control of several key positions in Michigan during the November 2026 midterm elections. On the Michigan Supreme Court, Chief Justice Megan Cavanagh and Justice Noah Hood both won reelection to their eight-year terms.
In East Lansing, Brianna Scott and Kelly Tebay Zemke retained their seats on the Michigan State University Board of Trustees. They defeated Republican challengers Julie Maday and Roger Victory in a close contest.
The trustee victories occur during a period of internal instability at Michigan State University. Two other board members have filed lawsuits against the board and University President Kevin Guskiewicz.
