Meta Platforms Incorporated developed a humanoid robot prototype in collaboration with the Chinese startup Fourier, according to a report from The Information. A second version of the robot is currently under development as part of a broader push into consumer robotics.
This initiative follows a 2025 internal memo from Meta's Reality Labs, which established a dedicated group for humanoid robotics research. Chief Technology Officer Andrew Bosworth stated that the project aims at "maximizing Llama’s platform capabilities."
While Fourier produces the GR-3 humanoid model, it remains unclear if Meta's prototype is based on that specific design. The company has not released details regarding the robot's specific capabilities, design, or intended consumer use.
