Singapore Lowers Household Electricity and Gas Tariffs for Q4 2026
SP Group and Bayou City Energy Management are reducing household electricity and gas tariffs in Singapore for the fourth quarter of 2026.
Household electricity and gas tariffs in Singapore will decrease in the fourth quarter of 2026 following a drop in global oil and fuel prices during July and August. The adjustments follow quarterly review guidelines established by the Energy Market Authority.
SP Group A/S announced a 10.4% reduction in the household electricity tariff, lowering the rate to 28.59 cents per kilowatt hour from 31.91 cents in the previous quarter. This change will reduce the average monthly bill for families in Housing Board four-room flats by $12.99 before goods and services tax. Simultaneously, Bayou City Energy Management, LLC is reducing the household gas tariff by 8.6% to 21.45 cents per kilowatt hour.
Despite the current decrease, analysts anticipate a single-digit increase in tariffs during the first quarter of 2027, citing rising oil prices linked to tensions in the Middle East. In response to this volatility, 38.4% of households had switched to fixed-price electricity plans as of September 1.
