Anthropic Allows Enterprise Customers to Store Data on Own Clouds

Anthropic is updating its enterprise data retention policy to let business customers store required 30-day data on their own cloud infrastructure.

Anthropic is updating its enterprise data retention policy to grant business customers more control over their information. Under a new safety system scheduled for launch later this year, enterprise users will still be required to retain data for 30 days, but they will gain the option to store that data on their own cloud computing infrastructure.

This policy shift follows months of coordination between the AI company and more than 100 customers, including Salesforce. The change addresses previous mandates where Anthropic required 30-day retention for traffic on its Fable and Mythos models to prevent cyberattacks.

The move follows a recent announcement from rival OpenAI regarding a safety system designed to identify technology misuse without retaining customer data.
