Richard Dodson Runs for Wyoming House Seat as Republican

Former system administrator Richard Dodson is running as a Republican for Wyoming's lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Dodson focuses his platform on affordability, identifying the war in Iran and tariffs as primary drivers of economic instability. He seeks to separate himself from eight other GOP candidates by challenging political extremism and advocating for what he describes as speaking truth to power.

Drawing on 15 years of experience at the Ending Community Homelessness Coalition, Dodson promotes a housing-first approach to homelessness. He characterizes this as a liberal position for conservative reasons, arguing that providing housing is more fiscally efficient than maintaining the costs associated with homelessness. This stance aligns with data from the National Alliance to End Homelessness, which indicates that 65% to 80% of housing-first participants remain stably housed for two years.

Wyoming's primary election is scheduled for August 18. The general election will take place on November 3, where the GOP nominee will face a Libertarian candidate and one of two Democratic candidates.
