Motorola Unveils Signature 27 Flagship With 12,000 Nit Display

Motorola announced the Signature 27 premium smartphone featuring a 200MP periscope lens, Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, and GrapheneOS support.

Motorola announced the Signature 27, a premium slab-style flagship smartphone priced at $1,599. The device features a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED Duo tandem display with a peak brightness of 12,000 nits and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.

The hardware includes a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 90W wired charging, a military-grade aluminum frame certified for MIL-STD-810H durability, and audio tuned by Bang & Olufsen. The camera system utilizes a 50MP primary Sony LYTIA L910 sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 100x AI-powered zoom, and a first-of-its-kind Event Vision Sensor for capturing fast-moving subjects.

Software integrations include Google's Gemini Intelligence suite and a collaboration with the GrapheneOS Foundation to ensure full support for the privacy-focused, security-hardened operating system. Motorola has committed to seven years of Android OS updates for the device.

The Signature 27 will launch in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa on November 16. In the United States, pre-orders begin November 19 ahead of a November 26 launch, with a release in India expected later in November. The phone will be available in Pantone Coal Smoke and Capulet Olive finishes.
