Morocco Delivers Military Equipment to Expand Liberia Defense Ties

Morocco delivered military vehicles and logistical supplies to Liberia as part of a defense cooperation agreement involving specialized training for 140 soldiers.

The Government of Morocco has begun delivering military equipment and implementing a training program for approximately 140 Liberian soldiers to expand defense cooperation between the two nations. On October 19, a Moroccan C-130 transport aircraft arrived at Roberts International Airport near Monrovia with the first shipment of military vehicles and logistical supplies.

This initiative executes a 2025 military cooperation agreement signed in Rabat, which established a framework for technical assistance, military healthcare, and specialized commando training for Liberian troops within Morocco. The partnership also focuses on aviation and maritime security, specifically supporting the development of the Liberian military air wing and enhancing the surveillance capabilities of the Liberia Coast Guard.

Recent operations follow a September meeting between Major General Davidson Fayiah Forleh and General Mohammed Berrid to finalize a memorandum of understanding on capacity-building. Additionally, the two countries are collaborating on military healthcare through the Mohammed V Military Hospital.
