Costco Reports September Sales Growth to $30.02 Billion

Costco Wholesale reported a 13% increase in September net sales to $30.02 billion, driven by strong growth in the United States and digital channels.

Costco Wholesale reported net sales of $30.02 billion for the retail month of September ending October 4, a 13% increase over the $26.58 billion recorded during the same period last year. Total comparable sales rose 11.4%, with the highest growth occurring in the United States at 12.5%, followed by international markets at 10.8% and Canada at 6.3%. Digitally enabled sales grew by 19%.

The company attributed a small portion of this growth to a timing shift in the Labor Day holiday. These figures follow a strong fourth fiscal quarter ending August 30, in which the company reported quarterly revenue of $95.72 billion and net income of $2.998 billion.

Chief Executive Ron Vachris stated that the company used a portion of $184 million in tariff refunds received under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act to lower prices on staples, produce, and meat.
