Microsoft Unveils Snapdragon-Powered Surface Pro and Laptop

During the Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Hawaii, Microsoft announced refreshed versions of the Surface Pro 12-inch and Surface Laptop 13-inch. Both devices are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Plus processor and feature 500-nit PixelSense touch screens, representing a 25% increase in brightness over previous models. The company has eliminated the 8GB RAM entry-level option, with both models now starting at 16GB of RAM.

The Surface Pro 12-inch starts at $1,149 and introduces Ink Canvas, an AI-powered, pen-first workspace that integrates handwriting and sketches to provide Copilot with visual and spatial context. The Surface Laptop 13-inch starts at $1,199 and offers up to 22.5 hours of battery life. Commercial customers will have access to 5G options for the Surface Pro.

Microsoft also reintroduced the Surface Mouse for the first time since 2016. Priced at $79.99, the mouse features haptic feedback, Bluetooth 6.0, and a customizable Action Button for Copilot. The device is made with 30% recycled content and offers a battery life of up to six months. All three products are scheduled for release on October 13, with Ink Canvas available via the Microsoft Store on that date.
