Azerbaijan and China Sign Security Cooperation Agreement

The State Security Service of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Public Security of China signed a security cooperation agreement on September 14, 2026. The deal was finalized during a visit by Colonel-General Ali Naghiyev to Lianyungang, China, where he attended the 5th Global Public Security Cooperation Forum.

During bilateral talks with Chinese Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong, the officials focused on expanding collaboration to combat terrorism, transnational organized crime, and telecommunications-related fraud. The agreement emphasizes mutual trust and the exchange of information to address international tensions and evolving global security threats.

As part of the broader forum, participants adopted the Global Counter-Terrorism Action Plan 2026. During the visit, Naghiyev also expressed solidarity with China following a disaster in Tibet.
