BJP Launches Save Democracy Campaign Against Opposition Protests

BJP President Nitin Nabin launched a nationwide campaign to counter INDIA bloc protests over electoral roll revisions and criticize the Gandhi family.

BJP President Nitin Nabin launched a nationwide campaign titled Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy to counter the INDIA bloc and the Indian National Congress. The initiative began with an event in Panaji, Goa, where Nabin accused the Gandhi family of treating the Constitution as the wishes of one family and working only for their own benefit. He further criticized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's parents and questioned Rahul Gandhi's commitment to women's rights.

On October 28, 2026, Nabin led a foot march in New Delhi's Chandni Chowk as part of the broader mobilization. The campaign serves as a response to the INDIA bloc's allegations of vote chori regarding the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The opposition alliance has demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and scheduled a Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao rally for November 1 at Ramlila Maidan.

To counter these protests, the BJP is initiating a month-long series of synchronized padyatras starting November 1. These efforts will involve Union Home Minister Amit Shah and various state Chief Ministers. In Goa, Nabin urged party workers to begin Jan Samvad programs to engage first-time voters ahead of the 2027 elections.
