Power Metallic Mines Inc. hired BBA Inc. as lead engineering consultant for a Preliminary Economic Assessment of its Nisk Project in Quebec.
Power Metallic Mines Inc. appointed BBA Inc. as the lead engineering consultant to conduct a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) of the Lion and Nisk Main deposits at its Nisk Project in Quebec's Eeyou Istchee James Bay territory. The study began mobilization in late September 2026, with substantive work starting in October and a projected completion date in the first half of 2027.
The PEA focuses primarily on the high-grade Lion deposit to evaluate mining and processing options, infrastructure, and overall project economics. To support the technical study, the company engaged GeoVector Management Inc. for geological roles, SGS Canada Inc. for mineral resource and metallurgical sections, and ethos stratégie Inc. for community engagement. Environmental baseline work is also underway, led by Nemaska Resources and supported by Groupe Synergis.
Chief Executive Officer Terry Lynch stated that appointing BBA puts strong engineering capability behind the project's next major milestone. Vice President of Operations Christopher Beal noted that the immediate priority is establishing the basis of design to ensure broader engineering proceeds efficiently. Power Metallic is funding these programs using existing cash resources.
