AirTrunk Secures A$4.25 Billion Loan for Sydney Data Centre
AirTrunk secured a A$4.25 billion green loan to expand its SYD3 data centre campus in Western Sydney to support AI and cloud services.
AirTrunk secured a A$4.25 billion green loan from a consortium of 32 local and international financial institutions to fund the expansion of its SYD3 data centre campus in Western Sydney. The project aims to increase capacity for artificial intelligence, cloud, and enterprise services, with a scheduled completion date of mid-2028.
The expansion is expected to support more than 10,000 jobs in the construction and engineering sectors. As a green loan, the facility includes margin adjustments that will fund social impact programs focused on disaster relief, biodiversity, and STEM education.
To align with a Net Zero 2030 target, the project will utilize lower-carbon concrete and steel while targeting a 90 per cent diversion of non-hazardous construction waste from landfills. This financing increases the total global committed debt for AirTrunk to approximately A$38.4 billion. A.W. Edwards Pty. Ltd. is leading the development of the expanded campus.
