Meta Plans $1 Billion AI Data Center in Tulsa
Meta will invest $1 billion to build a two million square-foot AI data center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, featuring clean energy and water restoration projects.
Meta plans to construct a $1 billion artificial intelligence data center campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The two million square-foot facility is designed to connect billions of global users to AI computation and will incorporate up to 1.5 GW of clean energy capacity, either on-site or co-located.
To address the significant water consumption required for cooling AI hardware, the company will invest tens of millions of dollars to upgrade local water infrastructure. This effort includes a 10-year partnership with PhyTech to employ plant-sensor technology, aiming to save over 50 million gallons of water annually. These initiatives support a broader corporate objective to be water positive by 2030.
Fortis Construction will lead the development of the campus.
