Morgan Stanley Survey Shows AI Surge Among Finance Interns
Morgan Stanley research reveals 68% of North American finance interns use AI tools daily and over 25% utilize prediction market platforms.
Morgan Stanley equity research found a sharp increase in the adoption of artificial intelligence and prediction markets among more than 500 North American summer interns. Daily AI tool usage rose to 68% from 35% the previous year, with 70% of those interns paying for subscriptions to assist with research and drafting tasks.
Despite the high adoption rate, 61% of the surveyed interns expressed concern that AI technology could eventually replace jobs within the finance sector. The survey also highlighted a growing interest in prediction market apps, with over a quarter of respondents using platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket.
This trend emerges as prediction markets face heightened regulatory scrutiny and stricter internal corporate oversight. Morgan Stanley maintains an employee code of conduct that specifically addresses the trading and investing activities of staff within these markets.
