Target Chief Stores Officer Tours 16 States for Turnaround
Adrienne Costanzo is visiting retail locations across 16 states to oversee back-to-school operations and implement a company-wide turnaround plan.
Target Chief Stores Officer Adrienne Costanzo is conducting a multi-state tour of retail locations to oversee the back-to-school shopping season and implement a corporate turnaround plan. Visiting 16 states in three weeks, including stores in Madison, Wisconsin, Costanzo is evaluating inventory levels, staffing, and a new trailer loading strategy intended to move merchandise to shelves more efficiently.
Costanzo reported strong foot traffic from parents and students and improved in-stock rates, though she identified a need for better employee training and customer service during peak periods. The operational push occurs as CEO Michael Fiddelke works to stabilize the company following 2025 boycotts related to the removal of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and recent criticism over a racist children's Halloween costume.
