Rowan Digital Infrastructure Plans Final Texas Data Center

Rowan Digital Infrastructure is seeking municipal approval for the Lasso Building, the final facility in its Project Temple initiative in Temple, Texas.

Rowan Digital Infrastructure is proceeding with plans to construct the Lasso Building, the sixth and final facility in its Project Temple initiative. The proposed data center will span approximately 300 acres in Temple, Texas.

The project encountered delays after city officials identified the original site as essential for a future landfill expansion. Following the relocation of the facility to a new parcel of property, the project must undergo fresh municipal reviews. The Temple Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to evaluate the application in August, with the Temple City Council holding hearings in September. Construction is tentatively slated for early 2027.

The development faces opposition from Temple Stands Together, a community group. The organization is advocating for amendments to the city charter and a statewide freeze on data center construction to protect regional water resources.
