Tesla Deploys Unsupervised Robotaxis Ahead of Cybercab Event

Tesla has deployed at least 195 unsupervised robotaxis in operation, according to crowdsourced tracking data. The fleet size has doubled over the last month and quadrupled over the last four months, with the highest concentrations located in Texas. Austin currently hosts over 100 units, while Dallas and Houston each have more than 30 vehicles.

Data suggests the company may have up to three times the identified number of vehicles in operation, likely utilizing Model Ys in unsupervised mode. This deployment serves as a precursor to the wider rollout of the dedicated Cybercab model. Between 900 and 1,000 Cybercabs have also been spotted in testing at parking lots near robotaxi service areas.

These movements precede a scheduled Cybercab event on September 3, 2026.
