Iran Suspends Regional Missile Attacks Following Arsenal Degradation

President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that Iran will suspend missile attacks against its neighboring countries and offered an apology for previous strikes. The decision, approved by Iran's temporary leadership council, follows a significant degradation of Tehran's missile capabilities. Pezeshkian stated the move aims to ease regional tensions, though he asserted that the Iranian people would not surrender to pressure from Israel and the United States.

Joint U.S. and Israeli military efforts, including Operation Epic Fury and Operation Roaring Lion, have targeted Iranian launch sites and storage facilities. A report from the Jewish Institute for National Security of America indicates that ballistic missile launches have dropped by approximately 90 percent. Reports suggest Iran's ballistic missile stockpile may have fallen to fewer than 1,000 units due to a combination of combat use and targeted airstrikes.

Despite these losses, military analysts note that Iran retains the ability to sustain attacks via cruise missiles and its extensive drone program. Israel has warned that Iran could rebuild its arsenal to 8,000 missiles by 2027. Evidence of current distress includes Iran's recent use of cluster bombs against Tel Aviv, which some observers interpret as a sign that conventional warhead stocks are depleted.
