Hyundai Motor Company will invest $15.5 billion in India through 2032 to expand its manufacturing capacity and develop new automotive technologies. The seven-year plan follows a meeting between Executive Chair Euisun Chung and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The investment includes expanding facilities for Hyundai Motor India and Kia India, alongside a $700 million commitment to an Indian research and development center and vehicle testing track. CEO José Muñoz stated the company intends to launch 26 new vehicles in India by FY2030, targeting a fleet that is 50 percent electrified—including EVs, hybrids, fuel-cell, and CNG vehicles—by 2030.
To mark the company's 30th anniversary in India, Muñoz indicated that a major announcement is expected at a new plant in Pune. This facility will serve as the group's third plant in the country and the second specifically for Hyundai Motor Company.
