Early Voting Surges in Missouri and Kansas

Voters in Missouri and Kansas are turning out in record numbers for early voting ahead of the 2026 elections.

Early voting turnout has surged across Missouri and Kansas as voters prepare for the 2026 elections. In Kansas City, Missouri, the Kansas City Election Board projects at least 13,000 early voters, a significant increase over the 8,600 recorded during the August primary. Missouri voters are focusing on a GOP-drawn congressional map and Amendment 3, which would restrict abortion access.

In Kansas, early voting numbers have nearly doubled compared to the 2022 midterms. Johnson County recorded 47,957 advance voters within the first three days, while Wyandotte County reported 4,376 voters in the first four days. Kansas voters are primarily concerned with the economy and a competitive U.S. Senate race between incumbent Republican Roger Marshall and Democrat Adam Hamilton.

President Donald Trump visited Kansas on October 20 to campaign for Marshall. The surge in participation reflects high stakes in both states, particularly regarding the toss-up Senate seat in Kansas and constitutional amendments in Missouri.
