Tripura Names Eight Locations Seva Jyoti Chowks for Modi
Chief Minister Manik Saha announced the establishment of eight Seva Jyoti Chowks to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 25 years of government service.
The Tripura Cabinet approved the naming of eight locations as Seva Jyoti Chowks to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 25 years of continuous service as a head of government. Manik Saha, the Chief Minister of Tripura, announced the decision on October 13, identifying Agartala, Dharmanagar, Kailashahar, Ambassa, Khowai, Bishramganj, Udaipur, and Belonia as the selected sites.
These landmarks will feature boards detailing government programs and function as hubs for tree plantation, cleanliness drives, and voluntary service to support the Viksit Bharat vision for 2047. Saha stated that the government will ensure that the benefits of Central and state government programmes reach all beneficiaries and strengthen collective responsibility for social and national development.
During a special meeting, the Cabinet adopted a resolution congratulating Modi, noting his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat beginning October 7, 2001, prior to becoming Prime Minister. Saha praised Modi's leadership in national security, specifically citing the 2016 surgical strikes, 2019 Balakot air strikes, and Operation Sindoor in May 2025. He also highlighted infrastructure progress in Tripura, including highway expansions and the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
