Representative Ashley Hinson Reviews $67 Billion Military Funding Request

Ashley Hinson is reviewing requests for $67 billion in additional military funding as the war with Iran enters its fifth month.

U.S. Representative Ashley Hinson announced Wednesday that she is reviewing military funding requests from the Trump administration as the war with Iran enters its fifth month. The review comes after Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth informed Congress that the conflict has cost $37.5 billion to date. The military is now requesting an additional $67 billion to support ongoing operations and replenish supplies.

The Department of Defense confirmed that 18 American soldiers have been killed and nearly 500 injured during the five-month conflict. To support these efforts, President Donald Trump has requested a total budget of $1.5 trillion for the Department of Defense for the upcoming year, which represents a more than 40 percent increase. This spending request arrives as the national debt nears $40 trillion.
