FIFA Leases $4 Million Trump Tower Office Suite
FIFA signed a seven-year lease for a luxury office in Trump Tower to strengthen ties between President Gianni Infantino and Donald Trump.
FIFA signed a seven-year lease for a 5,000-square-foot suite on the 17th floor of Trump Tower in New York City. The deal, valued at approximately $4 million, was driven by FIFA President Gianni Infantino to foster closer relations with Donald Trump.
While the organization maintains the space is used for special events and meetings with dignitaries during the United Nations General Assembly, the office remains mostly unused. FIFA's primary operations in the United States continue to be based in Miami. The organization asserts that the rent is at market level and follows internal processes.
The lease has drawn criticism from senior officials and former governance head Miguel Maduro, who raised concerns over potential conflicts of interest. This development follows other controversial actions by Infantino, including the creation of a peace prize for Donald Trump and secret negotiations to sell portions of future tournaments to a private fund linked to the brother of Jared Kushner.
