Middle Belt Youths Pledge 10 Million Votes for Tinubu
Youths from Nigeria's Middle Belt region have launched a mobilization campaign to secure 10 million votes for President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid.
Youths from Nigeria's Middle Belt region have declared their support for the 2027 re-election bid of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Led by aviation entrepreneur Isaac Balami, the group launched a political movement to mobilize 10 million votes for the president and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This realignment follows a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja between the president and a delegation of Middle Belt and North-Central leaders led by General Theophilus Danjuma. The delegation, which included former Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara, visited to express solidarity and discuss regional security and development.
Isaac Balami, who previously mobilized support for Peter Obi of the Labour Party in 2023, cited the administration's inclusion of regional representatives in strategic government positions and efforts to combat insecurity as the primary drivers for the shift. The movement is particularly significant in Plateau and Nasarawa states, which were strongholds for the Labour Party in the previous election cycle.
The mobilization effort will be coordinated through the APC and the City Boy Movement, involving officials such as Director-General Seyi Tinubu and Francis Oluwatosin Shoga. While pledging their support, the youth group emphasized that the government must maintain its focus on employment, education, and infrastructure.
