Gold and Silver Prices Rise in Pakistan
Gold and silver prices in Pakistan increased on August 3 following a rise in international bullion markets driven by Middle East geopolitical tensions.
Gold and silver prices in Pakistan rose on Monday, August 3, 2026, tracking an upward trend in the international bullion market. The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association reported that 24-karat gold increased by Rs1,700 per tola to reach Rs428,436. This mirrored a global climb where gold reached $4,060 per ounce, an increase of $17. Local silver prices also rose by Rs54 per tola to reach Rs6,291.
Market rates showed regional variation across major cities. Peshawar recorded the highest selling price at Rs444,000 per tola, while Lahore and Karachi followed at Rs430,000 and Rs429,000 per tola, respectively.
Analysts attributed the rise to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. However, broader global markets experienced volatility, evidenced by Brent crude futures falling more than 4%. This dip in oil prices followed statements from U.S. President Donald Trump regarding expected talks with Iran and his decision to cancel a planned military strike.
