Narendra Modi Interacts With Youth From Border Village Program

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a video conference with over 400 youth participants of the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026 to discuss national integration and frontier development.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with participants of the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026 via video conferencing on July 26, 2026. During the session, Modi emphasized the government's goal to empower youth with self-reliance and specifically praised the courage of young women who undertook solo travel during the initiative.

Implemented through MY Bharat, the program aims to treat India's border villages as the first villages of the nation and active partners in the broader Viksit Bharat development vision. Between June 4 and June 30, 2026, over 400 youth from every state and union territory, selected via a nationwide quiz, visited 74 villages across Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

Participants engaged in community activities, including Swachhta drives, tree plantations, and cultural exchanges to gain first-hand exposure to the socio-economic and strategic importance of frontier regions. The interaction served as a platform for the Prime Minister to hear field experiences and reinforce the strategic integration of these border regions into the national development journey.
