Seyi Makinde Criticizes Tinubu's Prayer Trip to Saudi Arabia
Governor Seyi Makinde criticized President Bola Tinubu for traveling to Saudi Arabia to pray for Nigeria, arguing that leadership requires remaining present during national hardships.
Oyo State Governor and Advanced Peoples Movement presidential candidate Seyi Makinde criticized President Bola Tinubu for traveling to Saudi Arabia to pray for Nigeria. Makinde argued that spiritual intercession for the nation is equally effective when conducted within Nigeria, suggesting the president could have prayed from Aso Rock, a church, or a mosque.
Makinde asserted that leadership requires remaining present among citizens, particularly as Nigerians face ongoing insecurity and economic hardship. He stated that the Advanced Peoples Movement will not engage in foreign prayer journeys, opting instead to remain in the country to pray for the nation and its leaders.
