Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with U.S. and Russian officials in Atlanta to discuss maritime security and formalize U.S. participation in Expo 2030 Riyadh.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan participated in the G20 foreign ministers meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 30 and 31, 2026. The broader forum focused on global trade, supply chains, and energy and food security, alongside strategies to mitigate global economic challenges.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Prince Faisal held separate diplomatic talks with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Discussions with Rubio centered on strategic bilateral relations and resulted in an agreement for the United States to officially participate in Expo 2030 Riyadh.
In his meeting with Lavrov, Prince Faisal addressed regional stability and security, specifically focusing on the escalation in Yemen and threats to maritime navigation in the Bab el-Mandeb and the Strait of Hormuz. These diplomatic engagements precede the G20 Leaders’ Summit, which is scheduled for December 14-15, 2026, in Miami.
