JD Vance Says Trump Will Avoid Forever War in Iran
Vice President JD Vance stated that President Donald Trump will achieve U.S. objectives in Iran without allowing the conflict to become a forever war.
Vice President JD Vance stated on Thursday that President Donald Trump will not allow the conflict in Iran to become a "forever war." Speaking to Fox News, Vance expressed confidence that the administration will accomplish its objectives before shifting focus to other priorities.
The current tensions began on February 28, 2026, when the United States and Israel launched strikes against Iran. This action triggered Iranian retaliatory attacks targeting Israel and U.S. positions located in Arab countries.
Although the United States and Iran signed a framework agreement in June and entered negotiations, those talks eventually collapsed. The failure of the diplomatic process stemmed from disagreements over security and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
