India Advances AI and Quantum Tech to Reach 2047 Goals

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and government ministers announce strategic advancements in artificial intelligence and quantum technologies to drive India toward developed nation status by 2047.

Narendra Modi advocated for the responsible and inclusive adoption of artificial intelligence to accelerate India's goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. Speaking at an AI Innovation Summit in New Delhi, the prime minister stated that AI tools can enhance efficiency and compliance when combined with human judgment.

Parallel to AI efforts, Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced that India is becoming a major force in frontier technologies, including nuclear, space, and quantum domains. Singh noted that the National Quantum Mission has already achieved over half of its targeted outcomes since 2023, specifically in quantum-secure communication for defense and cybersecurity.

To integrate these technologies into the financial sector, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is partnering with LLM providers. The organization signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sarvam and is in discussions with Microsoft and OpenAI to deploy training models. The institute also plans to develop a customized LLM to maintain data sovereignty. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat urged the development of AI assurance standards to eliminate algorithmic biases and protect investor confidence.
