Madhya Pradesh CM and Congress Clash Over Rahul Gandhi Visit

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav sparked a political confrontation with the Indian National Congress after criticizing Rahul Gandhi ahead of Gandhi's 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' campaign scheduled for September 19 in Indore. Speaking at a Ladli Behna Scheme event in Agar Malwa, Yadav characterized the student-focused tour as 'Jhooth Ki Goonj' (echoes of lies) and demanded a public apology from Gandhi upon his arrival in the state.

Yadav attacked the political legacy of the Gandhi-Nehru family and referred to the Leader of the Opposition as 'Pappu,' alleging that Gandhi has questioned the judiciary and armed forces. In response, Congress leaders defended Gandhi's constitutional position. Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari urged the Chief Minister to maintain dignity and a respectful attitude toward opposition leaders, while accusing the state government of irregularities in police recruitment and the Vyapam scandal.

The dispute escalated into a war of words as Congress members claimed the Bharatiya Janata Party fears Gandhi's influence over the youth. Patwari further criticized the BJP for using the proposed implementation of the Uniform Civil Code to divert attention from inflation and unemployment. Meanwhile, Yadav contrasted these criticisms with his government's achievements in housing, education welfare, and security.
