Trump Speaks at NASA Summit as Agency Unveils X-70

President Donald Trump delivers his first formal post-midterm speech at NASA's Up Summit, where Administrator Jared Isaacman announced the experimental X-70 Fractal aircraft.

President Donald Trump visited the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Friday, November 6, to deliver his first formal speech following the 2026 midterm elections. The president arrived in Brevard County via Air Force One after attending a Diwali celebration at the White House. His appearance coincided with the Up Summit and NASA's inaugural MAX Power aerospace technology expo and airshow, an invitation-only event featuring speakers such as Governor-elect Byron Donalds.

During the summit, NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman announced the X-70 Fractal, an experimental aircraft intended to test advanced aviation technologies and revive the agency's legacy in breakthrough flight research. The X-70 is expected to fly within two years. Isaacman advocated for a return to radical airframe and engine designs to achieve higher and faster flight capabilities.

The visit follows a midterm election cycle in which Democrats saw widespread victories across the United States, although Florida remained under Republican control. After concluding his remarks at the space center, the president is scheduled to travel to Palm Beach County for the weekend.
