Narendra Modi Releases Ram Nath Kovind's Autobiography in New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released former President Ram Nath Kovind's autobiography, urging Indian youth to value perseverance over shortcuts to success.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the autobiography of former President Ram Nath Kovind, titled "Triumph of the Indian Republic: My Life, My Struggles," during a ceremony at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on August 12, 2026.

During the event, Modi described the book as a "cherished legacy" for Indian democracy and society, praising Kovind's guidance and warmth. He specifically addressed the youth, urging them to read the accounts of admired personalities to gain inspiration and historical perspective. Modi warned against a "shortcut" culture driven by social media influencers, stating that "a shortcut will cut you short."

Modi highlighted Kovind's journey from a humble background in Paraunkh village to the presidency as a model of how honesty and simplicity enable individuals from deprived sections of society to reach the highest levels of power. He also noted that Kovind continues to contribute to national affairs, specifically through the "One Nation, One Election" initiative.

Ram Nath Kovind, who served as India's 14th President from 2017 to 2022, described the launch as an emotional moment. The autobiography details his career, including his time as the Governor of Bihar, his two terms in the Rajya Sabha representing Uttar Pradesh, and his leadership within the Bharatiya Janata Party's Dalit Morcha.
