Trump Announces $10 Billion Investment at Pennsylvania Defense Summit

President Donald Trump headlined a defense summit in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, announcing $10 billion in private investments to modernize the U.S. military industrial base.

Donald Trump headlined the Pennsylvania Defense and Innovation Summit on July 15, 2026, at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle. Organized by Senator Dave McCormick, the two-day event gathered over 1,300 leaders from 500 organizations to discuss a defense reset aimed at integrating artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and precision weapons while reducing reliance on adversarial foreign suppliers.

During the summit, Trump announced approximately $10 billion in pledged investments from domestic technology and defense companies to bolster Pennsylvania's industrial base. Specific commitments included a $10 million investment in AI research from ZeroEyes and plans by Gecko Robotics to open a 10,000-square-foot manufacturing facility. The event also featured high-ranking officials, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and CIA Director John Ratcliffe, alongside executives from Lockheed Martin, SpaceX, and JPMorgan Chase.

The summit took place as the U.S. military launched a new round of strikes against Iran. This conflict has depleted U.S. stockpiles of Tomahawk cruise missiles, Patriot, and THAAD interceptors, with some reports suggesting a three-year replenishment period is required. To address these shortfalls, Trump proposed a $1.5 trillion defense budget for 2027, though the package remains stalled in Congress. Trump also pledged to license Ukraine to produce Patriot air-defense systems to support regional security.
