Osun APC Criticizes Lack of Notice for Tinubu Campaign Council
The Osun State APC expressed concern after learning about the inauguration of President Bola Tinubu's re-election campaign committee via social media.
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised concerns over the organization of the State Presidential Campaign Committee for President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election. State Chairman Tajudeen Lawal stated that party leadership received no formal notification of the committee's membership or the scheduled inauguration, discovering the details through a social media post by Olawale Rasheed, the spokesperson for Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Lawal noted that the information appeared less than 24 hours before the event. While the Osun APC supports the president's re-election and accepts Governor Adeleke's role as the state campaign coordinator, Lawal argued that the lack of consultation and short notice could lead to avoidable misunderstanding and tension within the party.
The 344-member council is designed to boost the president's electoral prospects through cross-party cooperation, incorporating leaders from the APC, the Peoples Democratic Party, and the Accord party.
