APC Chairman Threatens AK-47 Fire Over 2027 Vote Target

Jarrett Tenebe, Edo State APC Chairman, threatened to use AK-47s against anyone obstructing the party's goal of delivering 2.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu.

The Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Jarrett Tenebe, threatened to unleash AK-47 fire on anyone attempting to obstruct the party's goal of delivering 2.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. Tenebe made the remarks during a campaign rally as Governor Monday Okpebholo toured 18 local government areas to mobilize support.

In a viral video, Tenebe framed the threat as a reversal prayer, contrasting the spirit of a General Purpose Machine Gun with Holy Ghost fire. He argued that delivering a high vote count is essential for securing development opportunities and the creation of new local government areas, asserting that only the president has the authority to create such districts.

Tenebe noted that Governor Okpebholo had pledged this target to the president, citing the governor's previous success in securing over 2.1 million votes during recent local government elections.

The African Democratic Congress in Edo State condemned the rhetoric as incitement to electoral violence and voter intimidation. The opposition party alleged that Tenebe's language previously led to an attack on the ADC secretariat and announced plans to forward the video to the police and the Department of State Services.
