Andy Burnham Avoids Manchester Office for Bride's Wedding

Prime Minister Andy Burnham avoided the No 10 North building in Manchester on August 21 to accommodate a request from Sarah Burwin, who was getting married at the venue. Burwin used TikTok to ask the prime minister not to work from the site—which houses both the government's northern headquarters and the city's register office—expressing concern that the police presence and security bollards would ruin her wedding photographs.

Burnham did not attend the ceremony but sent a video message to Burwin and her husband, Fred, confirming he was honoring her request to stay out of the way. He noted that he was filming the message as he left the building for the day.

No 10 North was established by Burnham after he succeeded Keir Starmer as prime minister. The office operates under the Office of the Prime Minister with a specific focus on national economic growth policy.
