Israeli Strikes Kill Palestinians Amid Trump-Led Disarmament Deal

Israeli forces conducted airstrikes and drone attacks across the Gaza Strip killing at least five people shortly after Donald Trump announced a Hamas disarmament agreement.

The military of Israel conducted a series of airstrikes and drone attacks across the Gaza Strip on August 1, 2026, resulting in at least five Palestinian deaths and dozens of injuries. The strikes targeted residential buildings, civilian gatherings, and medical infrastructure. In Deir al-Balah, a strike destroyed two of four medical supply warehouses at Al-Aqsa Hospital and leveled up to 60 tents sheltering approximately 1,000 displaced persons. Other attacks hit the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City and the Nuseirat and al-Maghazi refugee camps.

These military actions occurred as Donald Trump, President of the United States, announced an agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza. Trump stated that Israeli forces would withdraw in phases as the disarmament process progresses, with Hamas reportedly agreeing to a detailed roadmap for the next phase of the ceasefire. However, some Israeli political sources indicated that no withdrawal would occur without genuine disarmament.

Hamas official Bassem Naim called on mediators to pressure Israel to cease ceasefire violations. The Gaza Health Ministry and the Palestinian National Council condemned the strikes as war crimes and systematic attacks on the health system. Separately, Israeli forces conducted raids in the occupied West Bank, abducting more than a dozen Palestinians in Nablus and Al-Khalil.
