Donald Trump Tapes 60 Minutes Interview After Midterm Losses
President Donald Trump sat for an in-depth interview with CBS's 60 Minutes to discuss Republican midterm election losses and the war in Iran.
Donald Trump taped an interview with the CBS newsmagazine 60 Minutes on Friday morning in the Oval Office. This marks the president's first in-depth interview following sweeping midterm election losses for the Republican Party.
Correspondent Ross Douthat conducted the session, which was attended by CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss and executive producer Nick Bilton. According to CBS, the discussion covered the midterm results, the composition of the new Congress, the economy, the war in Iran, and the president's remaining years in office.
The appearance follows a volatile history between the president and the program. In 2024, a lawsuit regarding an interview with Kamala Harris resulted in a 16 million dollar settlement paid to Trump by previous owners of CBS.
