Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa Pauses SpaceX Land Sale Talks

Texas Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa requested a pause on potential land sales to Space Exploration Technologies Corp. during her first news conference following her election. Hinojosa informed the head of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department on Thursday that no action should be taken regarding the sale of state park land while she transitions into office.

The request follows reports that the state was considering the sale of Boca Chica State Park to the aerospace company led by Elon Musk. While outgoing Governor Greg Abbott previously stated that no deals would be brought to a vote in the immediate future, Hinojosa is now formally scrutinizing the potential transaction.
